4 Days of Silence

It’s been 4 days since antisemitic, pro-Hamas protesters shut down the California Democratic Party’s convention in Sacramento. Regrettably, too many California Democrats have yet to weigh in and condemn these intolerable and offensive actions.

It should not be difficult to say that hundreds of protesters, if not  more,  should not have broken into the convention center, overwhelming event security and injuring two.

It should be easy to stand up against chants that call for the destruction of Israel or try to justify the October 7th attack, including  “from the river to the sea,”  “intifada, intifada,” and  “resistance is justified when people are occupied.”

It should be a no brainer to support Jewish members of their own party who attended the event and  “were openly intimidated and harassed.”

But cowardly California Democrats can’t seem to find the words and prefer to remain silent, including:

  • Vice President Kamala Harris
  • Governor Gavin Newsom
  • Congressman Josh Harder (CA-9)
  • Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-12)
  • Congressman Adam Schiff (CA-30)
  • Congresswoman Katie Porter (CA-47)
  • Congressman Mike Levin (CA-49)
  • Senator Melissa Hurtado (SD-16)
  • Senator Josh Newman (SD-29)
  • Senator Dave Min (SD-37)
  • Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria (AD-27)
  • Assemblywoman Jasmeet Bains (AD-35)
  • Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia (AD-36)
  • Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo (AD-40)
  • Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin (AD-42)
  • Assemblywoman Sabrina Cervantes (AD-58)
  • Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (AD-67)
  • Jessica Morse, 3rd Congressional District candidate
  • Adam Gray, 13th Congressional District candidate
  • Rudy Salas, 22nd Congressional District candidate
  • George Whitesides, 27th Congressional District candidate
  • Allyson Damikolas, 40th Congressional District candidate
  • Joe Kerr, 40th Congressional District candidate
  • Will Rollins, 41st Congressional District candidate
  • Kim Nguyen-Penaloza, 45th Congressional District candidate
  • Rhodesia Ransom, 5th Senate District candidate
  • Lisa Middleton, 19th Senate District candidate
  • Porsche Middleton, 7th Assembly District candidate
  • Christy Holstege, 47th Assembly District candidate
  • Clarissa Cervantes, 58th Assembly District candidate
  • Jimmy Pham, 70th Assembly District candidate
  • Chris Duncan, 74th Assembly District candidate
  • Darshana Patel, 76th Assembly District candidate

BOTTOM LINE: While the Republican Party stands firmly with Israel and our Jewish brothers and sisters, California Democrats’ refusal to do the same is unthinkable. Their silence on antisemitism at their own event from within their own party is deafening. Shame on California Democrats.
