We are in the final week of the 2024 legislative session, and it’s almost beyond parody how California Senate Democrats are choosing to spend their time.
Senator Catherine Blakespear argued for a bill to ban plastic bags with the use of a prop so ironic that Alanis Morisette would be proud: a giant plastic turtle… Inflated with a gas generator.
Senate Democrats, including Senator Josh Newman, just voted to give up to $150,000 home loans at zero dollars down to illegal immigrants. And they did this as California’s Department of Finance says there’s no money to actually pay for the program and while simultaneously battling a massive budget deficit of their own making.
And lastly, wannabe congressman DUI Dave Min is having parliamentarian debates over whether or not he’s allowed to speak on the floor with a tiny stuffed octopus.
