“With a majority of voters having an unfavorable opinion of Vice President Kamala Harris, a retreat back home to California makes sense. A tip to bolster her standing: the Biden-Harris administration should get serious and negotiate with her fellow Californian, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, on a responsible debt limit increase that reins in federal wasteful spending.” 

BACKGROUND:

• According to the LA Times, 53% of registered voters have an unfavorable opinion of Vice President Harris with only 41% viewing her favorably.
• According to a Harvard CAPS Harris Poll, 60% of Americans believe raising the debt limit should include spending restraints.
