CA Dems Deliver Banner Day for Criminals

Thanks to Gavin Newsom and California Democrats, you can consider the Golden State a criminals’ paradise.

Don’t believe us? Keep reading.

Today, during the Democrat-controlled Assembly Public Safety Committee, Republican Senator Shannon Grove’s Senate Bill 14, which would classify human trafficking of a minor as a “serious felony” was blocked by Democrats, led by Committee Chair Reggie Jones-Sawyer.

That’s right. Accountability for perpetrators of one of the most heinous acts that a child could go through was shot down by the so-called Public Safety Committee. This left those were in attendance completely appalled with some even shouting, “you should be ashamed of yourselves!”

Sadly, this outcome should have been predictable, if you’ve been paying attention to this committee lately. Earlier this year, Democrat committee members punted and/or killed many fentanyl-related bills that would have held fentanyl dealers accountable for poisoning Californians.

As unbelievably abhorrent as Democrats’ actions were in this committee hearing today, California Democrats weren’t done yet handing wins to criminals.

Infamous Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten was released from prison in California today. This comes less than a week after Governor Gavin Newsom, in a Friday news dump, announced he would accept a ruling that she should be paroled.

Van Houten received a life sentence for the gruesome murders of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca in 1969. She was repeatedly denied parole, but today, she can thank Newsom – who has a  history of releasing murderers  from prison early – for cutting her sentence short and releasing her into our communities.

Today’s victories for criminals come on the heels of Attorney General Rob Bonta quietly releasing the California Department of Justice’s shocking 2022 Crime Report, a lso in a Friday news dump, before a holiday weekend. The new report showed that crime is only getting worse in California with violent crime up 6.1%, robberies up 10.2% and property crime up 6.2%.

“The message was received loud and clear once again today that California is the premier state for criminals to thrive, thanks to Gavin Newsom and California Democrats. From Manson family murderers to human traffickers targeting our most vulnerable, Democrats have shown there is no line they won’t cross to side with criminals over victims. But with a Democrat supermajority, I guess that’s just The California Way.”  — CAGOP Chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson
