Chairman Del Beccaro's Response to Democrats' Punt on Pension Reform

SACRAMENTO, CA – California Republican Party Chairman Tom Del Beccaro today issued the following response to the Democrats' decision to further delay action on pension reform:

"Today, California Democrat leaders have put off pension reform. It is apparent, once again, that they don't understand the negative effect on the California economy this mounting problem presents. Recently, the Democrat Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel recognized that Illinois' $88 billion pension problem was deterring businesses from coming to Illinois. It's too bad California Democrat leaders don't understand such simple economic dynamics - especially in our state which has 6 times the problem."
