SACRAMENTO -- California Republican Party chairman Tom Del Beccaro joined with Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff, Assembly Republican Leader Connie Conway, Jon Coupal, President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and members of the California Legislature as they kicked off their Statewide tour to stop runaway spending in Sacramento. The tour will also focus on stopping Jerry Brown’s tax increases.
“Voters aren’t just concerned about their taxes being raised, they’re increasingly worried that the money they do send to Sacramento is not being used wisely,” said Chairman Del Beccaro. “Governor Brown and the Democrats in the Legislature are talking about High Speed Rail and other lofty programs. It’s time to get back to basics. And get people back to work. And that starts right here in Sacramento.”
The tour launches just one day after CEO Magazine ranked California the worst place to do business and Capitol One announced it is moving jobs from California to South Dakota, adding to the list of companies that no longer find California a viable place to do business.
The group convened on the West steps of the Capitol today before Chairman Del Beccaro headed to travel to the Central Valley to talk with voters about the high unemployment numbers. The first leg of the tour will include visits to Bakersfield and Fresno on Friday.
