
Steven Baric was elected unanimously to become CRP Vice Chairman in March of 2011. He is the President of the California Republican Lawyers Association and serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the California Republican Party. Under his leadership, the CRLA has become the leading Republican voice in California on judicial appointments and ensuring fair elections. Mr. Baric has been quoted in every major newspaper in California regarding political and election law issues.
Steve has several years of experience in election law and election day operations. Since 2000, he has trained hundreds of lawyers and poll watchers in the complexities of election law. He has been a featured speaker at election law seminars for both the California Republican Party and the Republican National Lawyers Association. In 2004, he served as the Chairman of Lawyers for Bush/Cheney in Orange County. Mr. Baric was trial counsel in several landmark election contest trials including Del Beccaro v. Jerry Brown.
Mr. Baric is a seasoned trial attorney, having tried over a 100 cases including dozens of serious felony jury trials. As a former Orange County Gang Prosecutor, Steve prosecuted the toughest hard core criminal street gangs as a member of the elite TARGET Gang Task Force. In 2005, Mothers Against Drunk Driving honored Steve for his aggressive prosecution of a drunk driver who killed a pedestrian.
On February 25, 2008, Mr. Baric was unanimously elected Secretary of the California Republican Party.
